On Friday night after school we were able to get the opportunity to see all that New Orleans has to offer. It was a busy weekend with two major football games and it was King's Day and the start of Mardi Gras with many parades and crowds lining the streets!! We also were able to see the beautiful French Quarter and dine on local cuisine our favorite being biegnets! On Saturday we went to Morris Jeff to help organize their school library and then we got on the street car to see the french market and bought some souvenirs.We were also abe to go to the aquarium to many exhibits and took lots of pictures.
On Sunday we went to mass at Center of Jesus Christ. This was such a warm and exciting environment to be in such a fun way to bring in Sunday. We helped take down Christmas decorations and then helped the cooks get dinner ready for the homeless a great day of service made us feel excited for our first full week at Morris Jeff! We had such a busy weekend but couldn't wait to get back to our students!
